Form Management and JavaScript Spell Check

JavaScript SpellCheck has 2 main features for managing forms:

  • $Spelling.SubmitFormById(FormId) allows you submit a form after SpellCheckInWindow finishes.
  • $Spelling.BinSpellCheckFields(Fields) allows you to instantly find out if any or all of the fields are spelled correctly.

This demo puts the 2 together... checking spelling onsubmit.

If Spelling is OK - the form will process as normal. Is there are spelling errors - the user will be prompted to correct them - and the form will be automatically posted once the spell check is completed.


Pay attention to the onsubmit="return validateFormSpelling()" code. Returning true allows the form to submit - but returning false stops the form from being sent.

  • 'php' - PHP
  • 'asp' - classic ASP
  • 'asp.net' - ASP.net 2 or above raw request handler
  • 'aspx' - ASP.net 2 or above ASPX page
  • 'auto' automatically detects the best choice in the vast majority of cases.
